Talk a Walk with a Good Book
ACPL is proud to present a brand new Storywalk at Sells Park in partnership with the City of Athens Arts, Parks and Recreation. Director Nick, Youth Services Coordinator Taryn, and Graphic Designer Heather recently spent an afternoon installing the first story, Sneeze, Big Bear, Sneeze by Maureen Wright. Take a stroll, read a story, and complete fun activity suggestions. We hope to see you there!

Have You Checked Out a Library Hotspot?
We Want to Hear from You!
AnswerLab, a market research agency, is running 1-hour interview research sessions in November with library patrons who have recently checked out a "mi-fi" device. This study will help to understand the experiences of people who use these devices and the needs for Internet service in Southeast Ohio.

This research is being conducted separately from the library. AnswerLab has been hired and fully funded by an outside source to interview individuals, such as yourself, for the purposes of understanding your experiences and opinions of the mi-fi devices that you have checked out. Participants will be compensated for their time assisting with this study.

If interested, please complete the opt-in survey here. If you are selected, a recruiter from AnswerLab will reach out to see if you’re a good match for this study!

ACPL Web Developer Recognized for Making a Lasting Impact
Owen Leonard, ACPL's' very own Web Developer, was recently recognized as the Librarian of the Month by ByWater Solutions, the company behind our Integrated Library System, Koha (and also a company named after a village in J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings). Every month, ByWater recognizes a librarian who's made an impact on one of the 1,500 libraries and communities they support.

From ByWater Solutions: "Owen has been a part of the Koha Project at Athens County Public Libraries since 2002 when they undertook a new project! In the fall of 2003, they began using Koha. Owen has held various roles in the Koha Community, always providing feedback, applying patches, and working to make Koha the best Open Source ILS. He is always quick to jump into IRC or SLACK to help a fellow librarian troubleshoot an issue!"

Here at ACPL, we're also continuously appreciative of the work Owen does to keep our website and catalog running smoothly for patrons and staff.
